Sign regulations for Jefferson and Talmo are contained within the Land Use Management Code (see Article 17).  Any sign larger than 16 square feet requires a permit from the Department of Planning and Development.  The sign permit application form is available for download on this web page.  If the sign is proposed to be located in one of Jefferson’s historic districts, a certificate of appropriateness must be approved by the Jefferson Historic Preservation Commission prior to issuing a sign permit or otherwise authorizing approval to erect a sign.  Properties must be in compliance with the sign regulations for a sign permit to be issued.   

The sign code was amended with regard to electronic message displays and has not yet been integrated into the MuniCode version of Article 17 of the Land Use Management Code.  A downloadable version of that sign code amendment is available on this web page (below).
