Sign regulations for Jefferson and Talmo are contained within the Land Use Management Code (see Article 17).  Any sign larger than 16 square feet requires a permit from the Department of Planning and Development.  The sign permit application form is available for download on this web page.

Signs in Jefferson Historic Districts

If the sign is proposed to be located in one of Jefferson’s historic districts, a certificate of appropriateness must be approved by the Jefferson Historic Preservation Commission prior to issuing a sign permit or otherwise authorizing approval to erect a sign. If the sign is smaller than 16 square feet, a certificate of approporateness is only required.

Properties must be in compliance with the sign regulations for a sign permit to be issued.
