Roy Plott is a newly elected council member. He grew up in Dekalb County and
attended Georgia Tech and Southern Tech. He holds degrees in Architecture and Civil Engineering. Roy retired from the Community
and Economic Development Department of Georgia Power with 35 years of service. At Georgia Power, Roy managed the Georgia Resource
Center, Engineering and Information Services. He served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War and returned to school to finish
his degrees. Roy serves on the Board of Better Hometown Jefferson, and he and his wife, Debra, volunteer on the Design Committee.
Roy hobbies include woodworking, gardening, and golf. Debra and Roy have two grown daughters, and two grandchildren that live
near by.
