The City of Jefferson Public Works Department operates
three divisions, water, wastewater, and street maintenance to provide for the day to day operations of the city, it's
businesses and it's residents. It is also actively improving and building the infrastructure needed for the
growth of the community.

The Water Division provides the community with clean fresh treated water from the Curry Creek Reservoir.
This 24/7 operation can process up to 1.25 MGD to fulfill the needs of the community. Plans are to double that capacity
within the next few years by installing additional filtration equipment at our current plant.

Wastewater Division
The Wastewater Division treats the community's wastewater utilizing three facilities; Jefferson
LAS (land application system) currently treats up to 287,000 gpd, the new Central Wastewater Treatment Facility currently
treats .5mgd with a capacity of 1mgd expandable to 2mgd, and the Interstate LAS can treat up to 316,000 gpd. A new 1 mgd wastewater
treatment plant has been approved for the Interstate LAS site and will be built when required. Long range plans are to expand
the treatment capacity to 5 mgd (million gallons per day).
Street Maintenance Division 
The Street Division maintains our city streets, patches and repaves sections that have been torn up. But
they do alot more than just streets, they maintain our city parks and trails, keeping them mowed and well kept. They
pick up our brush and yard waste and they maintain city property and buildings. You can always spot them around town working
at the Civic Center, Curry Creek Park, patching one of our roads or see them in the neighborhood picking up yard waste.
