Planning Commission

The planning commission has six members, five of whom are appointed by the Jefferson City Council and one of whom is appointed by the Talmo City Council.  The planning commission has an advisory role with regard to applications for annexations, rezoning, conditional uses, and variances in the cities of Jefferson and Talmo.  The full powers and duties of the commission are outlined in Article 18 of the Land Use Management Code (see link this page).  The planning commission’s regular monthly meeting date is the first Monday of the month, at 6:00 p.m., at Jefferson Station, 1000 Washington Street, Jefferson, Georgia 30549 (in the community room between police department and the library).
