Jefferson Downtown Master Plan
The City of Jefferson applied for and received a partial grant from the Georgia Municipal Association through The Georgia Cities Foundation to contract with the Carl Vinson Institute of Government for a Downtown Master Plan. The Carl Vinson Institute uses its Renaissance Strategic Visioning Process to identify the strengths and weaknesses of a community by assimilating input from a Steering Committee and many focus groups and town hall meetings. Over 800 survey responses were received and used to identify various strengths and weaknesses in our downtown.
This plan is the work product of the Carl Vinson Institute and identifies the short and long term needs of the downtown, as well as, a work program to address the weaknesses that were found. Many of the work programs are being sponsored by members of the community.
