PUBLIC NOTICE: 180 Days Prohibition on Filing/Residential Annexations/Rezoning (PCD/MFR/R-3)
PUBLIC NOTICE:
On Monday, October 9th, 2023, the Jefferson City Council approved Resolution 23-14 which places a prohibition on the filing or residential annexations for 180 days. The resolution also places a prohibition on rezoning of land already existing in the city limits to the PCD (Planned Community Development), MFR (Multi-family Residential) and R-3 (Two-Family Residential zoning districts for 180 days. Applications already filed will be processed and are not subject to these prohibitions. These limitations were enacted based on concerns about future residential development impacts on the Jefferson public school system and to give the city time to complete a scheduled five-year update of the comprehensive plan.
